    this is a never ending cycle for me, if i go to sleep late, i can successfully sleep through the night. if i go to sleep early, i cannot fall asleep. either way, i am still tired as hell the next day :(

    Depends what he does. For example, if he plays video games all day then he won’t have much energy so he doesn’t have to sleep as much. Or if he plays a sport then his body will require more sleep.
